Meet our Clergy and Staff

Rev. Dr. Alex Moses
Pastor
Get to know Alex
Alex grew up nearby in Sandy Springs before heading to N.C. State University to study Civil Engineering. While serving as an Army officer near Savannah, he began to discern a call to ministry which then led him to Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary. After serving as a pastor in three other churches for over 20 years and earning his Doctor of Ministry from Princeton Seminary, Alex accepted the call to be the pastor of Northwest.
While in Austin, Alex met his wife Jennifer who is a teacher. They have two sons and a daughter – Addison, Broecks, and Caroline. When not busy with work and school activities, the Moses family likes to travel, read, explore Atlanta, go to Braves games, and play with their dog Cody and cat Milo.

Kirk Louis
Interim Director of Youth & Congregational Ministries
All about Kirk
Kirk is a ministry leader who is passionate about creating spaces where people can experience faith as honest, grounded, and deeply connected to everyday life. He is especially passionate about ministry that is about helping people of all ages discover the ways God is present and at work in their lives.
Kirk brings a love for Scripture, Reformed theology, storytelling, and meaningful conversation to his ministry. He believes the church is at its best when people can come as they are, ask honest questions, grow together, and discover what it means to live out God’s love in the world.
Outside of church, Kirk enjoys reading, writing, exploring new ideas, cars, sports and spending time with his wife, the Rev. Shavon Starling-Louis, his two children and their dog. He is also a co-creator of Liberooted, a ministry and digital platform centered on faith, culture, community, and liberation along with his wife.
Kirk is excited to join the Northwest Presbyterian Church community and looks forward to getting to know the congregation, learning its story, and discerning together where God is leading the church next.
